The Kamloops Downtown X-Ray Clinic opened in February 2011. The clinic is a privately owned facility (Lindsay Diagnostic Imaging Services Inc.), fully approved by the Medical Services Commission and Diagnostic Accreditation Program. The service is free of charge to those clients with a Medical Services Plan BC Care Card. Clients not covered by a Care Card (Out of Country, Pre-employment Medicals) are also accepted but there will be a small fee, usually charged to your insurance company or potential employer.
All of our X-ray exams are performed by professionally trained and certified Technologists, registered by the CAMRT (Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists). The clinic’s Chief Technologist has been employed in the field of Diagnostic Radiology for over 20 years and brings an abundance of experience, skill and competence to the facility. The casual Technologists are highly screened and competent as well.
The Radiologists who are responsible for interpreting all of the images at our clinic are registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, employed by Interior Health at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. Reports are completed usually within 24 hours.
We value continuing education for our staff. Ongoing training and attendance at seminars and conventions are provided by the facility to ensure staff remains current and knowledgeable of any technical advances in diagnostic imaging. Advanced digital technology is currently used in our clinic.
