About the Kamloops Public Market Cooperative (KPMC)
The concept for a year-round public market in Kamloops has been talked about in recent years by many different groups. Feasibility studies and business plans have been completed, locations were identified and much excitement generated. 

The KPMC vision builds on this previous hard work and focuses our sights on an existing parking lot in Riverside Park as the natural place for a civic commercial and social gathering place.  

The market initiative is being founded by a co-operative organization that will ultimately include membership from 1000 plus members, from all walks of life across a broad socio-economic spectrum that believe in the value of supporting local.  The Kamloops Public Market Cooperative was incorporated in August, 2018 and aims to create a landmark civic institution by attracting the participation, input and energy of many. 

The vision plan is a starting point, a work in progress that will evolve as support and co-operative membership grows.  It is the beginning of a community barn-raising effort needed to make the vision real.  We see the market as becoming the city's public square, a special place that will enrich the commercial, social and cultural fabric of Kamloops for generations to come.
