About Us

The BC Interior Community Foundation (BCICF) is proud to be a member of a national network of 191 Community Foundations across Canada. While each Foundation works independently, all are committed to making a lasting difference in their respective communities / regions! This is accomplished by providing philanthropic donors with flexible, efficient and tax-effective ways of ensuring their charitable giving generates maximum impacts.

The concept of a community foundation is delightfully simple – it is a charitable framework to build, over time, substantial and permanent endowment funds (through contributions both large and small). Since these contributions are “endowed”, the principal is never spent – instead, they are invested to produce “income”. That earned income is annually distributed to support a diversity of charitable needs – from environmental initiatives to arts and culture, at-risk-population sectors, youth, families, seniors and more… all within your local community / region… forever!
